This basket is all about empowering women to rise from poverty, raise their voices, and impact their communities. It is worth nearly $200. Every item was donated by companies and friends who believe in what Reeds of Hope is doing. HIV is on the rise in Uganda. Social and biological factors put women at a higher risk for the infection. This sparrow ornament was handmade in Rwanda by HIV+ women in Kigali as a way to help them escape prostitution. It features African market fabric and beading.
Simply stunning handmade 12" basket. This gorgeous piece was crafted by women in Rwanda using raffia and sweetgrass. It would be a perfect display piece, or to use for holding fruit or other objects.
